Despite records of civil rights violations, the Biden administration has chosen to continue partnering with sheriffs through an immigration enforcement program known as 287(g).

The program, which deputizes local law enforcement to help ICE deport immigrants, is inextricably tied to racial profiling.

Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of DACA

As one of the most difficult years in American history comes to a close, we want to take a moment to extend our most sincere thanks to all of you for sticking with us and remaining committed to the fight for justice and equality in Wisconsin. 

It is not enough to just turn back the clock on the past four years. It is time to put an end to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention machine.

Kristine de la Cruz and her children may never reclaim the sense of security they lost that day when Milwaukee police helped ICE tear their family apart. But together the people of Wisconsin can build stronger, safer communities and send a message that these dehumanizing practices must end.

Waukesha County is the only county in Wisconsin whose deputies are being trained to partner with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  We have another chance to try to end that effort.  The “287(g) agreement” between the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department and ICE expires on June 30, 2019, unless both the Sheriff’s Department and ICE agree to extend it. The county should decline to renew that agreement.

Speak up now: The government must not undermine Flores’ protections for immigrant children and families.
