Workshop: Know Your Rights and Take Action on Racial Profiling

February 25, 2010 @ 6:30 am

Since basic education on how the right to privacy, to be free from unreasonable searches and how the right to remain silent works is not a regular part of our daily lives, ACLU Student Alliance Know Your Rights workshops give people the basics on individual rights when encountering law enforcement. With the help of local criminal defense attorney and ACLU of Wisconsin Board President Erik Guenther, students can get questions answered about racial profiling and how to protect their rights in the home, in the car or on the street. Read more about Know Your Rights workshops at UW Madison on the Cap City Liberty blog. For more information on this event contact the ACLU Student Alliance at UW or to schedule a workshop for your Wisconsin community group, contact the ACLU of Wisconsin in Madison or inMilwaukee.
