The Wisconsin DOC legally must provide programming to incarcerated parents that allows them physical custody of their children for the first year of life.

We argued that Marsy’s law wasn’t fully, properly, or accurately presented to Wisconsin voters, leading voters to make a decision about a proposal about which they were not fully informed.

As a result of our lawsuit, the supermax prison was restricted from housing mentally ill prisoners and required to grant the same rights as other max security prisons.

We filed a lawsuit in the Wisconsin Supreme Court seeking the release of elderly and vulnerable people from state prisons in order to avoid a dangerous outbreak that would further strain the state’s health care capacity and put public health at risk.
