Bill Hotz left his banking law practice in 2008 to devote more time to causes and issues for which he had a passion. Civil liberties were high on his list. Bill became a member of the ACLU of Wisconsin’s Development Committee as a volunteer and ultimately became its Chair. He was subsequently elected to the Board for his current 3-year term as a director.
Bill is particularly passionate about issues affecting elections and voter rights—matters that he believes directly affect the very foundation of our democratic process and the rights we enjoy. He has participated in voter protection programs, served as a local election official, and played an active role in the recount of the ballots cast in the 2010 Wisconsin Supreme Court election.
