Wisconsin Supreme Court 2023 Election

Ahead of the 2023 Wisconsin Supreme Court Election – billed as the most important race of the year – the ACLU of Wisconsin embarked on an ambitious effort to educate voters about the impact of the state supreme court and to equip them with all the knowledge, resources and tools they needed to cast an informed ballot.

Partnering with the nationwide ACLU, we deployed an all-hands-on-deck approach, unleashing the full force of our organization to empower Wisconsinites to vote their values.

We engaged voters using a range of tactics, which included an extensive radio advertising campaign that reached hundreds of thousands of people, direct mail, door-to-door canvassing, and community outreach.

We were able to see the fruits of our labor on Election Night, when Wisconsinites showed up to the April election in record-breaking fashion. The extraordinarily high-turnout was proof that voters got the message.

And the message voters sent was equally as powerful: that Wisconsinites have a right to control their own bodies, and that governments have no business taking that away.
