AB 613/ SB 612: Parental Notification for All Classroom Removals

This bill would require schools to notify all parents of every student in the class each time a student is removed from the classroom and explain how the removed student diminished the quality or quantity of instructional time provided to the class.
While students wouldn’t be named in the notifications, it would likely create community-wide privacy problems for students with disabilities.

Students with disabilities–nationwide and in Wisconsin are more likely to experience exclusionary discipline than their non-disabled peers.
