AB 176/SB 211: Expanding Access to Birth Control

This bill would allow pharmacists to prescribe and dispense contraceptives to adults.

Access to contraception is critical to an individual’s autonomy, equality, and ability to participate in social, economic, and political life. This bill expands access to birth control to patients that are at least 18 years of age by allowing pharmacists to prescribe and dispense birth control such as patches and oral contraceptive pills.
