Summary

This bill expands the definition of “strip search” relating to the prohibition against strip-searching a student at school by also prohibiting searches in which students are wearing underwear.

The ACLU continues to stand for the constitutional right of students to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures at school, including the landmark victory at the United States Supreme Court in Safford Unified School District v. Redding.
