A Call for Transparency in Law Enforcement Surveillance

July 22, 2025 @ 6:30 pm

Join the ACLU of Wisconsin for a community issue briefing and testimony training on the growing use of surveillance technologies — like facial recognition software and other policing tools — by law enforcement agencies across Milwaukee. As these technologies expand without clear public oversight, the risk to our civil rights and liberties grows.

This event will focus on Community Control Over Police Surveillance (CCOPS), the dangers of unchecked facial recognition systems, and what you can do to push for transparency and accountability.

We'll also provide hands-on training on how to give effective public testimony, so you're ready to make your voice heard at city council meetings, public hearings, or community forums. This event is free and open to the public. Whether you're new to the issue or already organizing in your neighborhood, your voice matters in the fight to defend privacy and civil rights in Milwaukee and beyond.
