  1. I believe in and support all of our nation's Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, including voting rights, the enfranchisement of ex-felons, racial justice, reform of police, prisons and criminal laws, reproductive freedom, LBGT rights, and the rights to privacy.  I support and have raised my voice against police in the schools and in the needed reform of the prison system.
  2. I've written in the my poetry and fiction about the need for civil rights and the recognition of our national history of oppression and racism, which we need to understand and work to change, so that our national legacy of rights and liberties apply to all of us.  I've taught students and brought in speakers to address the problems of incarceration, segregation and abuse in the criminal justice system, and I've spoken to neighbors and colleagues about the ACLU-WI and the importance of this organization.
  3. First priority is to work toward increasing donor support and growing our financial resources.  Second priority is to address the militarization and police occupation in communities afflicted by poverty, lack of a viable economy, lack of tenants' rights to fair treatment in housing, including the problem of homelessness.  Third priority is to support opportunities for youth, especially youth of color.  Fourth priority is to support efforts for voter registration and change in the voting laws, so that all citizens can act on their right to vote.  Fifth priority is to keep people informed of the ACLU-WI efforts to educate and support our civil rights and liberties.
