Mark Sidel joined the board in December 2020 and is Doyle-Bascom Professor of Law and Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he specializes in nonprofits, philanthropy and the law. He also serves as consultant for Asia at the Washington DC-based International Center for Not-for-Profit Law, and research associate at the US-Asia Law Institute at New York University.
Sidel serves on the board of directors for The Rights Practice (US) and Asia Catalyst, nongovernmental organizations that work on human rights issues in Asia. Earlier he served with the Ford Foundation in program positions in China, Vietnam, Thailand and India, and he has worked with British courts, law firms and government agencies and US government agencies on human trafficking issues from Asia.
