the other america tour:
SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR A NEW GENERATION

Over 6,000 high school students across the State of Wisconsin have come together over the past four years to talk about issues that they face everyday, but do not have a forum to address. From race and sexual identity to gender and religion, there has never been a more important time for young people to recognize their power to overcome divisions and ignorance.
the other america tour takes participants through a three-part program that helps them to understand issues through Awareness, Responsibility & Action. The highly interactive program features the “Tunnel of Oppression”, live poetry and spoken word performances, activities, guided small group discussions, and skill-building workshops to increase confidence and skill to take positive action in their schools and communities. See some pix from last year's tour (poetry performances, workshops, small group discussion, etc.)
