Join UWEC professor David Shih for a presentation that invites participants to confront racism in America through examining the life of one of the most controversial public policy efforts of the Civil Rights era, Affirmative Action. How Americans feel about Affirmative Action tends to reflect their broader attitudes toward the state of racism in our nation. We will discuss what this personal investment means at a time when the Supreme Court is set to rule this year that these stories--that racial identity itself--should no longer be a part of how the state makes sense of who we are.  The program is sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union, Chippewa Valley chapter.
