Are there seperate membership dues for ACLU National and the Wisconsin Affiliate?
When you join the ACLU, ou automatically become a member of both the Wisconsin affiliate and the national ACLU.
When are membership dues renewable?
Your dues are renewable on the anniversary date of your joining.
What are the membership dues?
We offer the following levels of membership:
- Sustaining Membership: $125
- Supporting Membership: $75
- Joint Membership: $50
- Contributing Membership: $35
- Basic Membership: $20
- Limited Income/ Student Membership: $5

What do I get with my membership?
Every member receives Civil Liberties, the national ACLU's newspaper, which covers civil liberties issues all over the country in a clear and comprehensive way. In addition, the ACLU publishes a broad variety of special newsletters, public policy reports, handbooks and brochures. Visit the national website for more information.
Is my membership due Tax-Deductible?
No. Because a significant part of the ACLU's work is legislative lobbying on the local, state and national level, your ACLU dues are not tax-deductible. However the ACLU Foundation of Wisconsin is a 501(c)3 tax-deductible entity of the ACLU of Wisconsin that underwrites the legal work of the affiliate. Contributions to the ACLU of Wisconsin Foundation are tax-deductible and support litigation, public education and special projects.
